Richmond Recreation:

Central-Virginia has two major theme parks, Busch Gardens and Paramount's Kings Dominion. Both of these locations feature some extraordinary rides and shows. In fact, Paramount's Kings Dominion runs the worlds only underwater roller coaster, The Anaconda. Busch Gardens is known for it's European-inspired designs ("Visit Germany, Italy, France and Venice in an afternoon") and inspiring musical performances. Both of these parks are only open for business during the summer months. (Note: Kings Dominion offers a large fireworks display on and after July 4th.)

The Richmond-area also has an extensive government-operated Parks and Recreation systems. Many of these parks offer more than simple trails and fishing spots -- future details can be found on each of the regions' websites. Individual offerings will vary, but often include soccer and softball leagues, garden patches, tennis and basketball courts and playgrounds.
